Become a Member of B.HUG

If you use or have used the services at B.HUG, or have an interest in homelessness services then we're looking for you! B.HUG is looking for people to become members.B.HUG membership entitles you to the following:

-To have a say in the development and running of B.HUG.
-To receive regular and effective communication with regards to B.HUG activities.
-To exercise your voting right at the AGM.
-To be nominated to become a Trustee of B.HUG (unless you are disqualified from being a Trustee).
-To receive reimbursement of travel and out of pocket expenses when attending a B.HUG activity.

To become a member come in and talk to us. All it requires is a simple form, 50p for annual membership and a commitment to helping B.HUG develop the services you think are important. Contact matt@brenthomeless.com or give him a call on 020 8965 2561.

B.HUG's Housing Community Award 2009

As part of the Brent Housing Strategy Launch, B.HUG service to Brent Housing was recognised as outstanding. The Housing Community Award 2009 was given to B.HUG for its Involve U project, a year- long user involvement project for Brent supporting people service. The project engaged over 120 service users of Supporting People in Brent, trained 8 as community consultants and lead to the established of a user reference group B.Heard. B.Heard now works closely with Supporting People services to feed into their plans and services

B.HUG at the launch of Outside Story

Outside Story, a pilot project in seven London boroughs, is trying to improve access to reading, learning and information services for homeless and vulnerably housed people in public libraries, was launched at the British Library 13 May 09. Dwayne Foster, B.HUG's employee, performed in the event and is currently working with the project to set up a book club at our centre.

Swine Flu Update May 09

Swine influenza is a respiratory disease normally found in pigs but human cases can and do happen.

Cases of swine influenza have now been confirmed in many countries around the world including the UK.
